Transfer an existing LEI from its current provider to TNV-LEI without creating a new identifier. The same 20-character LEI remains assigned to the legal entity; only the managing LEI issuer changes. The provider transfer is free under TNV-LEI’s current terms, while renewal is a separate service when selected or required.

If a U.S. legal entity already has an LEI managed by another provider, do not apply for a new code. Search the existing LEI, submit a transfer request and confirm that you are authorized to act for the entity. After completion, TNV-LEI becomes the managing issuer while the existing LEI code remains unchanged.
During the transfer process, the public LEI record may show Pending Transfer status. This indicates that management of the record is moving between LEI issuers. The LEI code remains the same. Check the requirements of the relevant bank, counterparty or reporting system when the transfer occurs close to an important deadline.
